If you have lived in the UK for under 8 years and English is your second language, then our ESOL courses may be suitable for you. Our courses start at various points throughout the academic year – September, December, January and April with enrolment taking place before the start of each term. 

Registration and interviews take place before the start of the course term, you will have the opportunity to study speaking, listening (term 1), reading (term 2) and writing (term 3). 

The application process will require you to complete an online application form using the links below for the campus you wish to study at. 

  • You will then be booked to attend an interview/assessment with a course tutor on a separate date.
  • You will be placed you on the level best suited to your needs or a waiting list if the course is full, an early application is advised to avoid disappointment.
  • At this stage you will also have the opportunity to discuss timetable options.  

Progression can include moving to the next level of ESOL, or to vocational courses upon completion of entry 3/level 1 ESOL courses. As your English improves you will enhance your employment opportunities. 

What qualification do I get on completing this course?

Dependent on the Level of study; once the subject has been successfully completed students will either receive a college certificate for Foundation courses or and Ascentis Certificate for learners studying at that level.

All learners (other than Pre-Entry) will study Employability and will receive a college certificate on successful completion.
