Students grateful to get masterclass from Geberit

Plumbing students at the College of North West London welcomed the chance to attend a masterclass from industry experts Geberit.

As part of their employer engagement aspect of the course, the students at Willesden heard from Harmel Lothia, a sales executive at Geberit, the European leaders in sanitary wares and ceramics.

The session was an introduction into Mapress Copper solutions, which allows for pipe installation without soldering. Geberit Mapress Copper is used in drinking water installations, heating and cooling water systems, as well as gas and compressed air pipes.

James Crowley, Curriculum Manager, Plumbing, Gas and Electrical, said: “This is a great opportunity for our learners to get an insight into current industry practices from Europe’s leading sanitary and ceramic company Gerebit.

“Experiences like this give our learners the chance to learn new skills which employers within the plumbing and heating industry are looking for.

“Our partnership with SOPHE (Society of Public Health Engineers) has enabled us to forge links with leading manufacturers and companies in the building services industry.”
