The United Colleges Group is celebrating Apprenticeship Week 2021 by highlighting some of its brilliant apprentices.
One such apprentice is 32-year-old Emil Wisniewski, an Engineering Maintenance student at College of North West London.
Emil currently works for pladis as an Advanced Team Member in the Snacks Department (Laminated) at McVities’s in Harlesden..
Engineering has been Emil’s cup of tea his whole life and landing the placement with the biscuit manufacturer has allowed him to learn, grow, and develop his skills and interests.
When discussing his course, Emil praised both his employer and his college for providing the teaching, experience, guidance, and personal development that he needed to go on to become a valued team member.
In the future, Emil hopes to continue his education with an advanced, higher, or degree level engineering apprenticeship with the same company and hopes to eventually become part of the engineering team there.
He also praised the practical nature of the course, saying that it has allowed him to gain real, first-hand, practical experience in his chosen industry and build confidence and abilities.
Emil’s manager has praised him too, noting his dedication, thoroughness, and willingness to learn and ask questions.
The United Colleges Group hugely values the relationships its apprentices have with their colleges and their employers and wishes everyone a very happy Apprenticeship Week 2021.
Commenting, Emil said:
“I was drawn to this apprenticeship because I knew it would enable me to work in an industry I’m passionate about, would help me learn a huge amount while working, and has the reputation of the College of North West London behind it.”
“I’ve been able to progress, develop my skills, and increase my knowledge in a friendly and supportive environment – and I’m grateful for that.
“I’m now looking forward to continuing with my work and to continuing my education.”
Stephen Davis, Group Principal of the United Colleges Group, said:
“Emil is a great example of what an apprenticeship at College of North West London can help you achieve.
“It’s clear that he has learned a lot from his time with McVitie’s and has a very bright future career ahead of him.”
“I’d like to wish him, and all our wonderful apprentices, a very happy Apprenticeship Week 2021.”
