Regulatory Body Information - Guidance for all Students

Since 20th March 2020 due to the COVID19 crisis, the way you will be assessed for the qualifications you are taking has had to change.
Most students will not be assessed in the usual way, i.e. through formal exams/tests/assessments. The table below provides a summary of what is in place for all the qualifications. A significant difference this year is that a lot of student results will be based on calculated grades as determined by teachers. It is important to note that we will not be able to issue any information about individual calculated grades as the final calculated grades will be moderated by the awarding organisation and confirmed by them.
If you need to know which awarding body the qualifications you are taking is offered by, ask your tutor, who will be able to help you.
It is important that all awarding bodies comply with OFQUAL (OFQUAL is the government agency which oversees all awarding bodies and their qualifications, and all awarding bodies must comply with OFQUAL), so the information they give us, and which we give you, must be what OFQUAL has provided in any guidance they have given.

A-Levels and GCSEs
There will be no exams this summer. Students due to sit A level, AS level or GCSE exams this summer will receive a calculated grade, taking into account a range of evidence including, for example, non-exam assessment and mock results, and the approach will be standardised between schools and colleges.

Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships will continue.
Consultation on assessment process in place.
End-point assessment should not be affected.
Intermediate Apprentices do not need to have L2 FS.
Furloughed apprentices:
- These students can continue to study if the programme they are registered on enables this, i.e. the apprentice has access to content or theory modules that do not require work-based learning.
- Study can support 20% off the job requirements with evidence.
ESOL/LLDD/FS
