Health & Child Care Certificate

Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Settings (QCF): Level 1

This programme will enable learners to develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in health and social care and children and young peoples' sector. It includes the roles played by workers and investigates principles and values through to health and safety and working with others. This programme is designed for learners considering a career in health and/or social care with adults or children and young people.
The following units will be studied: * Understand the range of service provision and roles within health and social care (adults, children and young people), early years and childcare. * Understand the principles and values within health and social care(adults, children and young people), early years and childcare. * Awareness of protection and safeguarding within health and social care(adults, children and young people), early years and childcare. * Introductory awareness of equality and inclusion in health and social care(adults, children and young people), early years and childcare. * Introduction to communication and health and safety in health and social care(adults, children and young people), early years and childcare. * Introductory awareness of person-centred support in health and social care(adults, children and young people), early years and childcare. * Introduction to the development of children and young people through play. * Introduction to a healthy life-style.
Learners need to be operating above Entry 3 in English and Maths.
You will be taught using a range of teaching tools and techniques including lectures, role play activities, scenarios, group and pair work, assignments, presentations and work experience in the sector.
You will be assessed by tasks set by CACHE for knowledge in the College and you will be assessed in the work placement by an assessor To achieve the required standard you will need to successfully complete all of the units studied on the Certificate in introduction to Health and Social Care and Children's and Young people's Settings - consisting of 25 credits.
