Bricklaying - Diploma L2

Diploma In Bricklaying (19+): Level 2

This bricklaying course is for you if you are preparing to work in the industry or are already employed and need a recognised industry qualification. This course will help you to develop your existing skills and knowledge and introduce you to more advanced techniques. At each stage, your learning will progress and you will develop the skills employers in the industry are looking for, such as technical and practical skills, problem solving, team working and communication skills.

You will construct the following:

* Fireplaces

* Blockwork with piers

* Cavity walling

* Segmental arches

* Raking cuts.

You will need English and Maths skills at Level 1. If you do not have evidence of your English and Maths levels you will be given an online English and Maths assessment after you submit your application. You may also be asked to complete a piece of free writing or a vocational assessment. If you meet the entry requirements you will then be offered an interview with a tutor to discuss the course.
Practical sessions will be carried out in our workshops where you will cover advanced hand and power tool skills, how to handle equipment and build brick and cavity walls. Your practical sessions will be supported by theory lessons in the classroom to ensure you develop your underpinning knowledge to achieve your qualification.
You will be assessed by a series of online exams and practical trade tests.
You can apply online or phone us on 020 8208 5050 and request an application form. Alternatively, you can call into our centres at Willesden and Wembley Park and collect a form in person. Application forms are also available in our Prospectus.
