If you are aged under 19* you will be enrolled onto a Study Programme. Through your Study Programme, you will develop the skills and knowledge that will equip you for success in your future career or studies.
Your Study Programme includes:
- A Technical and Professional Qualification (TPE)
- English and/or Maths
- Employability Skills
- Personal and Professional Development
Technical and Professional Qualifications
At CNWL we offer a range of courses, from entry levels through to Level 3 (A Level equivalent) and some courses at Level 4 and above. Subject choice covers areas such as:
Business, Accounting, Childcare, Construction, Computing, Engineering, Media and many more.
English and/or maths
These skills are the key skills which employers and universities assess during the application process. They also support your continual professional development, future career choices and promotion opportunities. If you do not already have at least a GCSE grade C or grade 4 in these subjects, you will continue to work towards qualifications in these subjects.
You will spend some of your time at college in a work placement. This will allow you to apply the theories and skills learnt at college in a real working environment.
Personal and Professional Development
Having positive attitudes and behaviours are critical for your future employment. The college expects you to adhere to its Conduct Policy and attend regularly. Personal Tutorials will further support you in other areas such as CV building, study skills and time management.
Students that have Grade Cs/Grade 4 or above in English and maths also have the opportunity to complete a course in our 'Ten Choice Challenge'. This is a range of choices of additional courses for you to take, each of which will develop skills in an area that interests you. The current programme offers you the chance to get involved in volunteering, arts, digital media, environmental technologies or advanced academic writing, for example.
Further details on your study programme will be given to you at interview or enrolment.
