CNWL hosts Worldskills UK IT heats
The College of North West London hosted the London and South East regional heats of two Worldskills UK computing competitions this week (26 June). Following on from success over several years, four of the College's own students won medals.
In the Networking Infrastructure competition, CNWL student Naveed Nazamy won the Gold medal, while his younger brother Haseeb won the silver.
In the IT Solutions for Business competition, Jason Santos of Barking & Dagenham College won Gold, with CNWL students Maria Flore and Ahmad Raiwan taking Silver and Bronze respectively.
The students now wait till all the regional heats are over to find out if they have made the country's top eight in each category, who will then compete at the Worldskills UK national finals in November.
CNWL Principal Stephen Davis said: "This college has a proud record of success in skills competitions and it is great that we are continuing this in 2018 by hosting and winning medals. Every competitor from all the colleges here today has put in lots of extra work outside the classroom to earn their place, and the experience they have had will be invaluable to them in their careers."
