Who is this course for?
This course is ideal if you are new to the skills and knowledge for working in administration.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need at least four GCSEs grade E – G. You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.
- Minimum Literacy Level: Entry 3
You can read longer pieces of writing and understand the main ideas without help. You can write longer pieces of writing of 100 words or more. - Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 3
You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams to solve problems. You can add and subtract and do easy multiplication. You can use fractions and simple decimals.
What qualification will I receive?
BTEC Introductory to Business, Retail & Administration
Where can it lead?
You can progress to a Level 2 Certificate in Business, Administration, Retail or equivalent. It also provides a stepping stone into employment in the business, retail and administration industries where some previous experience is necessary to gain initial employment.
What will I study?
Subjects you will study will include: Starting work in Business, Retail and Administration, Working in Business, Retail and Administration, Introducing Customer Service. You will also study Key Skills including English and Maths.
How will I be taught?
Study on this course is in the form of theory and practical sessions. Teaching strategies will include lectures, class exercises, working in groups, research, visits, video, presenting to a group and discussions.
How will I be assessed?
The course will be assessed through a number of assignments; one assignment will be externally-set. Assignments will be marked by your lecturers and externally moderated by the examination board. You will be required to sit externally assessed written tes
What will it cost?
Students aged between 16-18 will be charged a £20 resource fee, plus material courses if applicable.
On income-based benefit? You could study for only £30.
