Who is this course for?
For therapists who have already gained a qualification in Beauty Therapy or Body Massage and wish to widen their knowledge in the holistic and complementary therapies fields. Although the course is practical based there is a lot of theory involved and students will be expected to complete assignments and homework most weeks.

What are the entry requirements?
You must have a Body Massage Certificate or equivalent. You will also need to have an anatomy & physiology certificate valid in the last three years. You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at interview. Good co-ordination skills are essential. There are additional costs with this course, applicants must check with Course Information Centre for details.

After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.

What qualification will I receive?
Diploma in Aromatherapy.

Where can it lead?
Advanced Aromatherapy Diploma course, employment in mobile therapy, health resorts, day spas and sports clubs.

What will I study?
Students will learn: how to assess clients for aromatherapy treatments, to carry out thorough consultations and give effective aftercare and home-care advice, aromatherapy massage techniques, essential oils and their safe use, basic blending techniques, health & safety, anatomy and physiology.

How will I be taught?
The college has a working beauty salon where students carry out treatments on paying members of the public. As well as individual treatments students will also carry out at least four case studies on clients which involve a course of treatments on the same client and tracking the client's progress.

How will I be assessed?
Students carrying out treatments on the general public which is assessed by observation and oral questioning by their tutor and collection of evidence to build a portfolio of work. Students will have written tests throughout the year on all theory within

Students aged between 16-18 will be charged a £20 resource fee, plus material courses if applicable.
