Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for those individuals who are new to the skills and knowledge for working in administration.
What are the entry requirements?
You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at interview.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.
- Minimum Literacy Level: Entry 3
You can read longer pieces of writing and understand the main ideas without help. You can write longer pieces of writing of 100 words or more. - Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 3
You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams to solve problems. You can add and subtract and do easy multiplication. You can use fractions and simple decimals.
What qualification will I receive?
The qualification attained on the completion of this course is a Certificate In Administration- level 1 (ESOL).
Where can it lead?
This qualification may lead to the Certificate in Administration Level 2 or equivalent courses.
What will I study?
This course consists of 5 core units which are :
1. Preparing routine business documents
2. Working with colleagues and customers
3. Preparing for work in the business organisation
4. Following routine office procedures and
5. File Management and e-Document Production.
New CLAIT and Basic Skills in Numeracy and Literacy are also part of this course.
How will I be taught?
Study is conducted in the form of theory and practical sessions.
Practical sessions are taken in our Office Services Centre and during work experience.
How will I be assessed?
This course is carried out by both internal and external assessment.
What support is available while I am on the course?
Integrated language support is very much a part of this course. The College's extensive learning resources are available to all learners.
