Who is this course for?
The course is for you if you need to development your communication skills further. This course is normally for individuals who have had several years break away from studying.
What are the entry requirements?
You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at interview. You must be over the age of 19.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.
- Minimum Literacy Level: Entry 2
You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing – for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.- Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 3
You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams to solve problems. You can add and subtract and do easy multiplication. You can use fractions and simple decimals.
What qualification will I receive?
Book-Keeping Level 1 and Computerised Accounts Level 1.
Where can it lead?
You can go into employment in accountancy, data entry or enhance current accountancy employment or progression onto either the Access to Accountancy or NVQ 2 courses.
What will I study?
Book-Keeping Level 1, Sage Computerised Accounts Level 1, literacy and communications.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught through lessons using a variety of teaching methods such as group work and individual tasks. Also support materials will be accessible on the College VLE.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through externally set and marked examinations as well as course work to monitor progress.
What support is available while I am on the course?
There will be access to a personal tutor to help you throughout the course and the College offers a comprehensive range of student services (if eligible), including learning, language support and guidance.

Students aged between 16-18 will be charged a £20 resource fee, plus material courses if applicable.
