Any student under 18 who has yet to achieve a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will study these as part of their study programme.
If a student has not previously studied the GCSE curriculum or has previously achieved a grade 1 or 2 in that subject, they are enrolled onto a Functional Skills course, where they will be supported to work towards achieving a Level 1 Functional Skills Certificate.
Where a student has previously achieved either GCSE grade 3 or they have achieved Functional Skills Level 1, they are enrolled to a one-year GCSE programme.
