Overview
This symposium will focus on Mobile Learning in Further and Higher
Education. Presenters will survey current practice, and look to the future, as
providers come to terms with teaching and learning in the digital age, and
with ubiquitous use of handheld devices in a connected world.
Many
Universities and Colleges are already exploring these capabilities, and
looking to move forward with Mobile Learning. This event will facilitate
networking opportunities, and enable practitioners, researchers, managers
and policy-makers to explore and reflect on current and future practice.
Objectives
- To look at where we are and what’s in store for mobile learning
- To demonstrate new mobile learning ideas and techniques and support practitioners in the use of technologies
- To examine the use of smartphones and games consoles in education, looking at educational apps for iPhone/iPad and other platforms
- To increase confidence in converting resources for mobile handheld device
- To share experiences of mobile learning and learn more about CNWL’s recent mobile learning project

The event is FREE to attend, but participants must register in advance with mobile.learning@cnwl.ac.uk by 14th September 2011
On the day
This event is taking place at the College of North West London, Dudden Hill Lane, London, NW10 2XD. The nearest London
Underground station is Dollis Hill on the Jubilee Line (5 minutes walk).
Location and directions
Delegates should make their way to the main reception area which can be located at the front of the main building as entered from the street.
A small number of parking spaces are available, and can be reserved on a first come first served basis.
Workshop choices should be made in advance, as communicated by the Event Organisation team; otherwise delegates will be
allocated according to availability on the day.
